Counselling

There may be times when you find things difficult for a range of reasons and emotional stress and difficulty can seriously impede your ability to study effectively. Queen’s students can access support and advice of a counsellor. Staff are friendly, approachable and experienced in dealing with a wide range of issues that students have to face at University and in their personal lives. Don’t leave things until the problem escalates; speak to them at the earliest opportunity.

Emotional distress and difficulty can seriously impede your ability to study effectively. Counselling can support you in managing your difficulty so that your studies do not suffer unduly, and help you gain new perspective when looking at a range of options. Counselling is free and confidential to any student of the University, and can range from a five-minute chat to a series of 50-minute sessions. Counsellors are professionally trained and accredited and are bound by the Code of Ethics of their professional body, the BACP.

Appointments are available during normal working hours but some evening and Saturday morning appointments are also available – just ask if these times would suit you better.
