ACCESS NI CHECK

The Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults (NI) Order 2003 (POCVA)
Pharmacy undergraduate students are required to complete several clinical placements throughout the four years of the MPharm degree programme. During these placements it is likely that students will come into contact with children and / or vulnerable adults. Therefore, the local Hospital Trusts have requested that all Pharmacy students undergo an ACCESS NI check in line with the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults (POCVA) legislation before being allowed onto the hospital wards.
Consequently, an ACCESS NI check and registration with the Independent Safeguarding Authority is now a condition of entry onto the MPharm programme for all students.

In addition, all MPharm students are required to sign a yearly declaration to inform the School of any cautions or convictions incurred since entry to the University.
